(Video) NYC Flight - Hudson Corridor Northbound

Flew alongside the city this weekend, Hudson Corridor north bound and used the garmin cameras to film the flight.

I tried a more forward facing angle, and will get a second camera to blend in the tail-cam perspective soon. Was pretty bumpy and I used the image stabilizer but still rough near central park. (Also it looks like the GPS altitude was bumped up 1000' for some reason)

(Video) Rhode Island to NJ with the Garmin Virb (via Long Island Sound)

We made a new wing-tip video flying from KWST to 3N6 (Rhode Island to NJ with the Garmin Virb via Long Island Sound)

The Bravo shelf in this airspace is very low, you'll see the altitude go down to almost 400' which is for the arriving traffic at JFK. If you look closely you will see some of the jets pass above the camera.

The virb camera continues to perform perfectly. The data it captures is a perfect addition to a great image-stabilized product they came out with.

More videos coming soon

Garmin video camera - Sussex NJ to Miller Airport NJ

New wingtip camera, Sussex NJ (KFWN) to Miller Airport (KMJX) during SuperBowl Weekend. Air Traffic controllers were slammed in the Bravo from the private jet traffic.

Results on new Garmin camera: great upgrade! We sold all our GoPro cameras for the new Garmin and the video quality is much smoother and image stabilized. The GPS metrics/overlays and ipad controls from inside the cockpit are a big plus, but the image quality is the most important. Huge improvement.

GDL39 (3d) w/ Attitude AHRS vs Steam Gauge

We've been testing the new GDL 39 (3d model) and are very impressed with it.

It pairs with the Garmin Pilot app to provide an artificial Attitude indicator, which could really save your butt in an IMC instrument failure.

In a very preliminary first pass with the device, we're very impressed with it. The unit can be calibrated for level flight and then tracks seamlessly with the plane. We found the error rate to be +/- 1 degrees but thats it. Tracks smooth and instantly.

The key with the AHRS is to calibrate the GDL39 when it is in true level flight, at cruise or on true level taxi way.
